Griselle Ponce, known as “The Mambo Diva,” is a world-renowned dancer, choreographer, entrepreneur, and community leader whose exceptional artistry and dedication have made her a global ambassador of Latin music and dance.
Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Newark, NJ, Griselle has toured extensively, performing on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including for President Barack Obama, and teaching salsa in over a dozen countries.
As the founder of The House of Dance NJ and the creator of the Afro-Puerto Rican ballet company Taimá “Las Hijas del Trueno”, Griselle has devoted her career to preserving Latin culture while mentoring new generations of dancers.
Griselle Ponce’s accomplishments include choreographing for top artists like Jennifer Lopez and Don Omar, performing alongside legends like Tito Puente and Celia Cruz, and receiving nominations for the Chita Rivera and World Choreography Awards. She also released the popular instructional DVD Ladies’ Styling by Griselle Ponce and continues to teach globally through her online platform.
Griselle is deeply committed to her community, serving as President of the Puerto Rican Day Parade, a commissioner for the Hispanic Commission in Newark, and a member of advisory boards for NJPAC and Clara Maass Medical Center. She has led anti-violence campaigns, anti-bullying marches, and created inclusive dance programs for children with special needs.
