Ready for one of the largest salsa competitions and parties of the year? Well, the US Salsa Open Championships are coming up this weekend!
So what is the US Salsa Open? The US Salsa Open is first and foremost a salsa competition, with competitors from all over the US and Bay Area competing. There are over 100 different divisions, so there’s a division for everyone, no matter what level of dancing. If you’ve ever wanted to get into competitive salsa, this is your chance!
Besides the competition, there is a pre-party on Thursday night at Cocomos, as well as workshops and shows all weekend. The workshops will be taught by national and international champions (including a team from Colombia), so this is a great opportunity to learn from the best.
The event this year is going to be held in D’Venue in Campbell (the same location as Hot Salsa Friday), so stop by the studio and get ready for some dancing, workshops, and competition!
how or where do I sign up to compete in the salsa dance competition?
Registration for the 2013 competition isn’t open yet (the competition is in July) but they should open up registration in a month or two once they’ve figured out the details for this year.
