Bay Area Teams Represent At College Salsa Congress 2014

Three college salsa teams from the San Francisco Bay Area competed this past weekend at the 7th Annual College Salsa Congress, held in Los Angeles. San Jose State University’s salsa team “Spartan Mambo“, Santa Clara University’s salsa team “Salsa Clara”, and Stanford University’s salsa team “Los Salseros de Stanford” competed on Saturday against schools from SoCal for the title of College Salsa Champion.
At the conclusion of the competition, 2 of the 3 medals went to Bay Area schools, with SJSU coming in 2nd place and Stanford coming in 3rd place.
The College Salsa Congress is one of the top college salsa competitions in the country, and draws dozens of collegiate salsa teams and hundreds of spectators every year. This year was the 7th year that the event has been held and the 5th year with a competition. The competition was judged by Grizzly Hidriago, Junior & Emily, and Jo & Vince.
