Cafe Cocomo, the most popular venue in San Francisco for live salsa music and dancing will be closing its doors for good this month. The property has been sold for residential development, and although the management is planning to re-open at a new location, the Cocomo that we have all come to know and love will be gone for good.
To commemorate the end of this historic salsa venue, Salsa By The Bay is putting together a commemorative page for what has been dubbed the “Palladium of the West”. If you would to share your photos or memories with the rest of the Bay Area salsa community, please send them to us at contact@salsabythebay.com.
Our piece on Cocomo will be debuting next week.
