Biography
Couture Dance Alliance is one of the top dance companies in the Bay Area. “CDA” as it’s known has been heavily focused on the competitive side of salsa dancing since it’s inception, and has twice placed as the top team in the annual US Salsa Open Championship. They have also represented the Bay Area in the 2010 World Latin Dance Cup.
The company was established in 2009 by two time World Salsa Champion Luis Aguilar, and is regularly featured in some of the top salsa festivals in the States and abroad, including in New York, San Francisco, San Diego, and Montreal.
The dance company currently consists of Haute Couture (Professional Team), Couture Dance (Semi-Pro), Just Couture (Amateur) and a training team.
Haute Couture
Haute Couture is CDA's professional level team, and is one of the top ranked teams in the US. The 2x US Salsa Open Champions are well known for their technical dancing, and hold a 1st place Semi-Final finish in the 2010 World Latin Cup.
Couture Dance
Couture Dance is CDA's Semi-Professional level team, and regularly performs at venues all around the Bay Area. Couture Dance has also participated in a number of local competitions including the San Francisco Salsa Congress, the US Salsa Open, and the annual Roccapulco team competition.
Just Couture
Just Couture is CDA's amateur level team. Despite the amateur level, the team has high standards for technique and timing and has been featured at numerous venues and festivals including the US Salsa Open and the Salsa Mambo Festival in Palm Springs.
