The place might be under new management (it sure looks like someone cleaned the worst mess). However, the sound system is just as awful as many people on Yelp complain about. N-Rumba played well, the dancers were pretty good, but it was painful to listen to the music – blaring loud trebles from the speakers, almost no midrange, and next no no bass. This makes conversation impossible. And yes, the average age is about ten years older than what Cocomo used to be like. Don’t go. At least, don’t go without earplugs. Your ears will ache.
Teacher is suuuuper nice– parking is tricky.
The only reason I put a 4 is because the floor is not very good for salsa as it’s more of a clubbing-like scene.
Older crowd for sure, but hell, I actually sort of like that. The guys were good at dancing and all very nice.
A lot of people showed up for the opening night! At first I was worried because it was just a few folks. I’m in my mid-twenties, I suppose the younger folks didn’t hear about it yet. I’ll be back
Update: Dance floor is all brand new! Turns are great now. Tomaj & Tiffany are super friendly. Def check it out.
