Tried this place out last night since I was in the Bay Area and it was alright. Really the only place locally if you live in the East Bay. The floors appear to be wood but it’s not a dance floor (or at least it isn’t maintained like one i.e. I wouldn’t bring your nice shoes, mine got messed up).
The crowd is mostly beginners (even the “intermediates”), but especially later into the night, there WERE a good handful (like 5) of experienced dancers, including Beto and Lani. Only a few On2.
Live bad was cool, but one thing they don’t mention is that it’s $15 regardless of what time you arrive if it’s live band night. Also, get this: you get charged $1 for every glass of water and $3 for bottled. Lame.
Crowd is definitely older. I’m 21 and was definitely the youngest there. Otherwise, it was overall a good night, and I’ll probably go back, but I think it would be worth checking out Allegros or Cocomos if you’re more advanced. Great for beginners.

Great place overall.
I have been going there for about 8 years now and always look forward to Wed nights.
Most of the dancers are 35+, the atmosphere is very friendly so you don’t need a partner or buddy to go with.
Instructors, Beto and Lani, are great if you need a class.
You also get dinner with cover charge and class if you come around 7:30pm.
After 9pm it is only $5.
They don’t do bands anymore which is actually great since it used to get really crowded and loud with live music.
Most of the dancers leave around 11pm -11:30pm.
Floors are not the best but they use baby powder in one corner of the room and that helps.
Quality of music varies depending on the DJ.
70% is salsa. The rest of the time they play bachata, cha cha and merengue, once in a while cumbia.
Beats sitting on the couch and watching TV, even if it is ‘Dancing with the Stars’.

Great dance floor, friendly and surprisingly many Salseros come here so good dancers and many familiar faces from Allegros, Cocomos and the salsa community. There are many beginners but it is balanced. DJ is great, he plays more bachata and merengue than any other salsa venue. Easy to park. Bring a photo ID or you probably won’t get in. That is the only complaint, too strict about that, must be a suburban thing? It has a free dinner buffet and class in the $10 cover but if you go after 9pm and text the Dj to put your name on the guest list you only pay $5. Beats staying home!

It’s still the OG kick it spot and it was a ghost town by 10:30pm… kinda disappointing especially because the cover charge was $10.
If you are looking for great dancing/dancers, this is not the place for you. I don’t see myself going ever again.

I love the fresh dinner, two salsa lessons and going to a place where people actually love to dance. Salsa. MarengĂ© chabatta, chacha, bechatta… all so invigorating and fun. Occasionally a slow dance. Friendly! Awesome dance instruction early on after dinner. Latino Wednesdays rocks and all for $10! Cya

Ten bucks for a wonderful dinner, Salsa dancing and lessons is a steal. You’ll be welcome here regardless of your skill level. Hope to see you on Wednesday!
Great id you can work with Beto and Laolani ( spelling) the instructors. They are great modellers and are so patient! Our friends come all the way from San Jose, since they closed Club Milano. Nice mix of folks. Enjoy!
