Upcoming Salsa Events For August

There are a lot of great salsa events coming up in August, especially if you’re located in the South Bay. From the San Jose Salsa Festival to the San Jose Jazz Festival, August has some great outdoor salsa events with live music.
Here’s a look at some of the big events that are coming up in August:
Friday, August 5th – Target Summer Pops Concert
An annual live-music event featuring held at San Jose State University, featuring the music of Ricardo Lemvo and Makina Loca.
August 12th – 14th – 2011 San Jose Jazz Festival
One of the biggest salsa events of the year, featuring live music in downtown San Jose with music and dancing all weekend.
Saturday, August 13th – Livermore Salsa Festival
A free outdoor event at Carnegie Park in Livermore, featuring salsa tasting, live music, and dancing.
Saturday, August 20th – Alum Rock Salsa Festival
An event hosted in Alum Rock in San Jose, with booths serving food and salsa, live salsa music, and a salsa dancing contest.
Thursday, August 25th – Music in the Park
A free outdoor concert held at Cesar Chavez park in downtown San Jose, featuring the music of ever-popular Pete Escovedo.
Saturday, August 27th – Salsa in the Park
A salsa dancing Meetup group that gets together at parks around the Bay Area for a day of free outdoor salsa dancing.
Sunday, August 28th – Tropical Mambo Night
A Sunday night salsa event hosted by Salsamania at Roccapulco Night Club in San Francisco, featuring salsa lessons, salsa performances, and dancing.
