US Salsa Open Championships
Overview:
An international salsa dancing competition held at the Oakland Marriott Hotel in downtown Oakland, drawing competitors from around the world. 3-days of competition featuring over 50 competitive divisions, starting at newcomer all the way to professional. Competition is open to dancers of all levels with prize money offered for pro divisions. Workshops available in the mornings with an international panel of instructors. Social dancing until 4am in the morning every night.

Was so disappointed, tried to go to the social dancing after the competition but there was no one there. Expected it to be like a mini congress but from 12-1230 on Saturday there were about ~15 people total so we ended up leaving. Beautiful layout and great decor, wonderful music but not enough people. Don’t know if it was because SF Salsa Festival was the same weekend but made me sad not to see a better turnout.
Need salsa calander monthly.
